Employing Foreign Nationals

Non-Immigrant Visa Sponsorship

International Student and Scholar Services must submit Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) that have been certified by the United States Department of Labor (DOL) when sponsoring H-1B or E-3 workers. Certain Temple University-sponsored legal permanent resident petitions must include labor certification under PERM; an attestation-based process where the employer files its labor certification application (Form ETA 9089) with DOL. Learn more about the process on the ISSS website.

Permanent Residency Sponsorship

The Human Resources Department is responsible for processing all applications for Lawful Permanent Residence (Green Card Applications). Temple University will typically sponsor foreign nationals who are full-time, regular employees in tenure and tenure-track academic job classifications, provided the Department Chairperson and Dean agree to support the application. These positions include Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor. A department may request an exception if unique circumstances justify the sponsorship of a particular employee.
